及平李賁，高祖旋師，穎隸在西江，出兵多以穎留守。 After Li Ben fell the Founder turned homeward. Ying stayed on the West River, and in most campaigns he was left behind to guard the base.

高祖與恪同郡，情好甚暱，蕭映卒後，高祖南討李賁，仍遣妻子附恪還鄉。 The Founder shared Ke's home commandery and liked him well. After Xiao Ying died, on the march against Li Ben he sent his family home under Ke's escort.

上遣交州刺史楊瞟討李賁，以陳霸先為司馬； The Liang emperor sent Jiaozhou Inspector Yang Biao against Li Ben and made Chen Baxian marshal;

至交州，賁帥眾三萬拒之，敗於朱鳶，又敗於蘇歷江口。 At Jiaozhou, Ben led thirty thousand to resist; he was beaten at Zhuyuan and again at the mouth of the Suli River.

賁奔嘉寧城，諸軍進圍之。 Ben fled to Jianing; the armies advanced to besiege it.

春，正月，癸丑，楊瞟等克嘉寧城，李賁奔新昌獠中，諸軍頓於江口。 In spring, the first month, on guichou, Yang Biao and the rest took Jianing; Li Ben fled among the Xinchang Liao; the armies camped at the river mouth.

李賁復帥眾二萬自獠中出屯典澈湖，大造船艦，充塞湖中。 Li Ben again led twenty thousand from the Liao to Dianche Lake, built a fleet, and filled the lake.

賁眾大潰，竄入屈獠洞中。 Ben's host broke and fled into the Qu-Liao caves.
