弟老瓦，始以楊城漁寨來降，為醜奴弟充質子，多立戰功，襲檀州。 His younger brother Laowa first surrendered from the Yangcheng Fishing Stockade. As Chounu's younger brother he served as a hostage, won many military honors, and succeeded to Tanzhou.

節度使言安以水柵未下，陰誘湯河川人叛去，老瓦追之不克，死焉。 Because the water stockade had not yet fallen, Military Commissioner Yan An secretly incited the people of the Tanghe River to rebel and flee. Laowa pursued them but failed and died in the attempt.
