始少帝與契丹絕好，繼勛亦預其謀，及契丹主至闕，繼勛自鎮來朝，契丹責之。 When the young emperor broke with the Khitans, Jixun had helped plan it. When the Khitan ruler reached the capital, Jixun came from his post to court, and the Khitans rebuked him.

契丹主曰：「此老子不是好鬧人，無相牽引，皆爾輩為之。」 The Khitan ruler said, "This old man is no troublemaker—do not implicate him. You people did it yourselves."

繼勛時有疾，契丹主因令人候其疾狀，雲有風痹，契丹主曰：「北方地涼，居之此疾可愈。」 Jixun was ill at the time, and the Khitan ruler sent someone to inquire; he was told Jixun had rheumatic paralysis. The Khitan ruler said, "The north is cool—live there and the illness will pass."
