河東道劉大觀揭劾初彭齡任性乖張，命回山西聽勘，以怒斥前撫金應琦及瞻徇知府硃錫庚，部議革職，詔寬之，降補鴻臚寺卿。 Hedong Circuit Intendant Liu Daguan filed charges accusing Chu Pengling of willfulness and perversity; he was ordered back to Shanxi to await investigation. For angrily denouncing former Governor Jin Yingqi and favoring Prefect Zhu Xigeng, the ministry recommended dismissal; the emperor was lenient and demoted him to superintendent of the Court of Imperial Entertainments.
