是年秋，拜文淵閣大學士，疏劾新授廣東巡撫黃贊湯貪詐，解其職。 That autumn he was made grand secretary of the Wenyuan Pavilion and memorialized against the newly appointed Guangdong governor Huang Zantang for greed and deceit, bringing about his removal.
