真君初，縣令黃宣在任喪亡，宣單貧無期親，文德祖父苗以家財殯葬，持服三年，奉養宣妻二十餘載。 Early in the Zhenjun period the county magistrate Huang Xuan died in office. Xuan was poor and without near kin. Wende's grandfather Miao buried him at his own expense, wore mourning for three years, and supported Xuan's wife for more than twenty years.
