咸豐元年，坐所薦陳州知府黃慶安犯贓，降二級調用，授山西按察使。 In the first year of the Xianfeng reign (1851), because the Chenzhou prefect Huang Qing'an whom he had recommended was guilty of corruption, he was demoted two ranks and transferred, and was appointed judicial commissioner of Shanxi.
