胡广曰：「官名祭酒，皆一位之元长者也。 Hu Guang explained: "The title jijiu marks the senior head of a bureau.

胡广曰：「勋犹门昏也，易曰『为门昏寺』。 Hu Guang derived xun from gate-warding, citing the Changes line on gate temples;

胡广曰：「光禄大夫，本为中大夫，武帝元狩五年置谏大夫为光禄大夫，世祖中兴，以为谏议大夫。 Hu Guang said: "The Household Grandee was originally the Middle Grandee; in the fifth year of Yuanshou under Emperor Wu remonstrating grandees were made household grandees, and at Guangwu's restoration they became remonstrating grandees.

胡广曰：「符用木，长尺二寸，铁印以符之。」 Hu Guang noted that the wooden tally was one foot two inches long and authenticated by an iron seal."
