侯莫陳悅之殺賀拔岳也，周文帝率岳所部還，共圖悅。 When Houmochen Yue killed Heba Yue, Yuwen Tai led Yue's troops back and together they plotted against Houmochen Yue.

元時助悅，悅走，元收其衆，入據秦州，為周攻圍，苦戰，結盟而罷。 At that time Yuan helped Yue; when Yue fled, Yuan gathered his troops, entered and held Qinzhou, was besieged by Zhou forces, fought bitterly, and made an alliance to cease hostilities.

太祖討侯莫陳悅，以導為都督，鎮原州。 When Grand Progenitor Yuwen Tai campaigned against Houmochen Yue, he made Yuwen Dao commander and garrisoned Yuan Province.

及悅敗，北走出故塞，導率騎追之，至牽屯山及悅，斬之，傳首京師。 When Houmochen Yue was defeated and fled north through the old frontier pass, Yuwen Dao led cavalry in pursuit, caught him at Qiantun Mountain, beheaded him, and sent his head to the capital.
