賀胜，仁杰子也，字貞卿，一字舉安，小字伯顏，以小字行。
He Sheng was a son of He Renjie. His courtesy name was Zhenqing; he also used Ju'an as an alternate courtesy name. His childhood name was Bayan, and he was commonly known by that name.
盧世榮、桑哥秉政，勢焰熏灼，勝父仁傑留守上都，不肯為之下，桑哥欲陰中之，累數十奏，帝皆不聽。
Under Lu Shirong and Sangge, who wielded power with intimidating force, Sheng's father Renjie, serving as governor of Shangdu, refused to bow to them. Sangge tried to destroy him in secret, filing dozens of accusations, but the emperor paid no heed.
大德九年，勝父仁傑請老，以勝代為上都留守，兼本路都總管、開平府尹、虎賁親軍都指揮使。
In 1305, when Sheng's father Renjie retired, Sheng succeeded him as Governor of Shangdu, simultaneously serving as Chief Administrator of the circuit, Magistrate of Kaiping Prefecture, and Commander-in-Chief of the Tiger Guard.
