嘉祐中，宰相韓琦等請建儲，仁宗曰：「宗子已有賢知可付者，卿等其勿憂。」 Jiayou: Han Qi urged naming an heir; Renzong said, "Among the imperial sons there is already one of worthy knowledge who can be entrusted—you need not worry."

韓琦宣遺制。 Han Qi read the testament.

帝欲亮陰三年，命韓琦攝冢宰，宰臣不可，乃止。 He wanted three years of mourning; Han Qi as acting ritual chief was blocked by the cabinet.

戊辰，以韓琦守司空兼侍中，曾公亮行門下侍郎兼吏部尚書、進封英國公，文彥博行尚書左僕射、檢校司徒兼中書令，富弼改武甯軍節度使、進封鄭國公，曹佾改昭慶軍節度使、檢校太傅，張昪改河陽三城節度使，宗諤同中書門下平章事，改集慶軍節度使、檢校尚書左僕射，歐陽修、趙槩並加尚書左丞，仍參知政事，陳升之爲戶部侍郎，呂公弼爲刑部侍郎，允弼、允良並加守太保，弟東陽郡王顥進封昌王，鄠國公頵進封樂安郡王。 On wuchen the cabinet was reshaped: Han Qi, Zeng Gongliang, Wen Yanbo, Fu Bi, Cao Yi, Zhang Sheng, Zongnu, Ouyang Xiu, Zhao Gai, Chen Shengzhi, Lü Gongbi, and the princes received new ranks and posts.

辛丑，韓琦罷爲司徒、鎮安武勝軍節度使、判相州。 On xinchou, Han Qi left office as minister of education and Xiangzhou commissioner.

己丑，韓琦上《仁宗實錄》，曾公亮上《英宗實錄》。 On jichou, Renzong's and Yingzong's Veritable Records were submitted.

嘉祐四年十月，仁宗親詣太廟行祫享禮，以宰臣富弼為祫享大禮使，韓琦為禮儀使，樞密使宋庠為儀仗使，參知政事曾公亮為橋道頓遞使，樞密副使程戡為鹵簿使。 In the tenth month of the fourth year of Jiayou, Emperor Renzong went in person to the Imperial Ancestral Temple to perform the xiá merging sacrifice. Chief Councilor Fu Bi served as Grandee of the Xiá Rite; Han Qi as Master of Ceremonies; Privy Council Commissioner Song Xiang as Master of Insignia; Vice Grand Councilor Zeng Gongliang as Master of Bridge Roads and Relay Arrangements; and Vice Privy Council Commissioner Cheng Kan as Master of the Imperial Guard.
