四年，河北、河東、陝西都總管司言：「郭諮所造獨轅衝陣無敵流星弩，可以備軍陣之用。」 In the fourth year (1052), the frontier headquarters of Hebei, Hedong, and Shaanxi reported: "Guo Zi's single-frame Formation-Invincible Meteor Crossbow is fit for use in battle lines."

除諮為鄜延路鈐轄，許置弩五百，募土民教之。 Guo Zi was made deputy commissioner on the Fuyan circuit, allowed five hundred crossbows, and authorized to recruit locals to train crews.
