晉氏喪亂，播遷江左，顧榮、郗鑒之輩，溫嶠、謝玄之倫，莫非巾褐書生，搢紳素譽，抗敵以衛社稷，立勳而升台鼎。 When Jin collapsed and fled to the south, Gu Rong and Xi Jian, Wen Jiao and Xie Xuan, were scholar-gentry in plain dress who took up arms for the realm and by merit reached the highest posts.
