唐光啟中，魏博從事公乘億以女妻之，因教以箋奏程式。 In Guangqi, Weibo staff officer Gongcheng Yi gave him his daughter in marriage and taught him the forms of memorials and reports.

億既死，魏帥以章表箋疏淹積，兼月不能發一字，或以騭為言，即署本職，主奏記事。 After Yi died the Wei commander's desk was buried in memorials for more than a month with no reply sent; when Zhi was recommended he was put in charge of drafting at once.
