六年，偕侍郎那彥寶勘近畿水災，又偕侍郎高杞監疏長辛店河道。 In 1801 he joined Vice Minister Nayinbao to inspect flood damage near the capital, and Vice Minister Gao Qi to supervise dredging at Changxindian.

九年，誤聽湖北巡撫高杞言，劾湖廣總督吳熊光受賄，不得實，後復以獨對時密諭私告杞，事覺，下廷臣議罪，以大辟上。 In the ninth year he wrongly believed Hubei Governor Gao Qi, impeached Huguang Governor-General Wu Xiongguang for bribery without proof, and was later found to have privately relayed to Qi a secret instruction from a private audience; exposed, the court deliberated punishment and recommended death.
