漢元以令僕用事，魏明以監令專權，及在中朝，猶爲重寄。 Under Emperor Yuan of Han the Masters of Writing ran affairs; under Emperor Ming of Wei the Supervisor and Director held sole sway; and even in the central dynasties the office remained a post of the deepest trust.

元帝用琅邪劉超，以謹慎居職。 Emperor Yuan employed Liu Chao of Langye, who kept his post through scrupulous care.
