宣帝即位，用吏多選賢良，百姓安土，歲數豐穰，穀至石五錢，農人少利。 Even in abundance under Xuan, very low grain prices squeezed farmer profitability.

宣帝召見韓增，曰：「賀將軍所舉得其人。」 Emperor Xuan called in Han Zeng and said, "Your nomination was sound."

奮武將軍任千秋者，其父宮，昭帝時以丞相征事捕斬反者左將軍上官桀，封侯，宣帝時為太常，薨。 Ren Qianqiu's father Ren Gong had served Emperor Zhao's chancellor as investigator, cut down mutineer Shangguan Jie, taken a marquisate, and ended as Grand Master of ceremonies under Xuan.
