景帝讓曰：「始南皮、章武侯先帝不侯，及臣即位乃侯之。 Emperor Jing demurred: "The late emperor did not enfeoff the Marquises of Nanpi and Zhangwu; it was only after I came to the throne that they were made marquises.

自竇長君在時，竟不得侯，死後乃［封］其子彭祖顧得侯。 While Dou Changjun was still alive, he never managed to become a marquis. It was only after his death that his son Pengzu finally received the title.
