唐亡无辞，庄宗之弑，唐已亡矣，而明宗又称唐，愍帝之奔，唐又亡矣，而废帝又称唐，其亡也不可以屡书，故不书也。 Later Tang’s end cannot be repeated: after Zhuangzong’s murder Mingzong still claimed Tang; after Min-di’s flight the deposed emperor did too. The annals cannot record every death, so they omit them.
