六年，軍器少監鄧之綱奏：「國家諸路為將一百三十有一，訓練士卒，各給軍器，以備不虞。 In the sixth year Deng Zhigang, vice director of military equipment, noted: "The state has 131 commands nationwide, training soldiers and supplying each with military gear against the unforeseen.

七年，之綱三上奏，一言修武庫，二言整軍器，大省國用。 In the seventh year Deng Zhigang submitted three memorials on arsenal repair and arms standardization, claiming major savings.

詔升之綱為大監，又遷一官。 He was promoted to grand director of the directorate and advanced one rank.

於是令鄧之綱分給沿流作院，限三年修之，而權住三年上供軍器。 Deng Zhigang was told to spread repairs among riverside workshops over three years while suspending circuit tribute arms for three years.

八年，以之綱奏，諸路歲起上供料買分數，特免三年綱發。 In the eighth year circuit tribute procurement quotas were waived for three years on his recommendation.

然自時厥後，申明郡縣牛皮角筋之禁，紛然為害者，之綱之請也。 Yet his request also led to renewed, harmful prohibitions on local ox hide, horn, and sinew.
