初，定興女為皇太子勇昭訓，及勇廢，除名配少府。 Initially Dingxing's daughter had been a Brilliant Instructor to Crown Prince Yong. When Yong was deposed, her name was struck from the registers and she was assigned to the Palace Storehouse.

定興先得昭訓明珠絡帳，私賂於述，自是數共交遊。 Dingxing had earlier obtained the Brilliant Instructor's pearl-net canopy and privately bribed Shu with it. From then on they frequently associated together.
