平江賊成重等有功，增秩為陳留太守，元始中，作明堂辟雍，大朝諸侯，征由為大鴻臚，會病，不及賓贊，還歸故官，病免。 For his merit in suppressing Cheng Zhong and the other river bandits, he was raised in rank and appointed governor of Chenliu. In the Yuanshi era, when the Bright Hall and Circular Moat were built and the feudal lords assembled at a grand court, he was summoned as Grand Herald. Illness kept him from presiding over the reception, so he returned to his former post and was later dismissed on grounds of illness.
