竟寧元年春正月，匈奴虖韓邪單于來朝。 In the first month of spring in the first year of Jingning, Chanyu Huhanye of the Xiongnu came to court.

詔曰：「匈奴郅支單于背叛禮義，既伏其辜，虖韓邪單于不忘恩德，鄉慕禮義，復修朝賀之禮，願保塞傳之無窮，邊垂長無兵革之事。 An edict declared: 'Chanyu Zhizhi of the Xiongnu turned his back and rebelled against ritual and righteousness, and has already submitted to his guilt. Chanyu Huhanye has not forgotten kindness and virtue, faces and admires ritual and righteousness, again repairs the ritual of court congratulations, wishes to protect the border pass and transmit it endlessly, so the border regions long have no affairs of weapons and armor.
