今人主沈於諂諛之辭，牽於帷裳之制，使不羈之士與牛驥同皁，此鮑焦所以忿於世而不留富貴之樂也。 Yet today's rulers are mired in the words of flatterers, bound by the strictures of palace etiquette, and force the free-spirited scholar to share a manger with oxen and warhorses alike. This is why Bao Jiao raged at the world and refused to enjoy the pleasures of wealth and rank.
