無子，以皇族魏王貼不子耶魯為嗣，早卒，天祚皇帝又以皇子敖魯斡繼之。 He had no sons; the imperial clansman Prince of Wei Tiebu's son Yelu was made heir but died young, and Emperor Tianzuo then made Prince Aoluwo his successor.

諸子惟文妃所生敖盧斡最賢。 Of all his sons, only Aoluwo, born of Consort Wen, was truly worthy.

會文妃之女兄適耶律撻曷裏，女弟適耶律余睹，奉先乃誣告余睹等謀立晉王，尊天祚為太上皇。 Consort Wen's elder sister was married to Yelü Tahieli and her younger sister to Yelü Yudu; Fengxian then falsely accused Yudu and others of plotting to enthrone the Prince of Jin and make Tianzuo Retired Emperor.

敖盧斡以不與謀得免。 Aoluwo was spared because he had not joined the plot.

及天祚西狩奉聖州，又以耶律撒八等欲劫立敖盧斡，遂誅撒八，盡其黨與。 When Tianzuo marched west to Fengshengzhou, he was told that Yelü Saba and others meant to seize him and enthrone Aoluwo; Saba was executed and his entire faction destroyed.

敖盧斡以有人望，即日賜死。 Because Aoluwo enjoyed popular esteem, he was ordered to die that same day.

天祚知其父之冤，而己亦幾殆，至是又自殺其子敖盧斡。 Tianzuo knew the injustice done to his father and had himself nearly died for it; now he killed his own son Aoluwo.

順宗濬晉王敖盧斡 Shunzong Jun and Prince of Jin Aolugan

晉王，小字敖盧斡，天祚皇帝長子，母曰文妃蕭氏。 The Prince of Jin, childhood name Aolugan, was Emperor Tianzuo's eldest son; his mother was Literary Consort of the Xiao clan.

出為大丞相耶律隆運後，封晉王。 Having been made heir to Grand Chancellor Yelu Longyun, he was enfeoffed as Prince of Jin.

時宮中見讀書者輒斥，敖盧斡嘗入寢殿，見小底茶剌閱書，因取觀。 At the time anyone caught reading in the palace was scolded; Aolugan once entered the sleeping quarters, saw junior attendant Chacha reading, and took the book to look.

保大元年，南軍都統耶律余睹與其母文妃密謀立之，事覺，余睹降金，文妃伏誅，敖盧斡實不與謀，免。 In Baoda year 1 Southern Army commander-in-chief Yelu Yudu and Aolugan's mother Literary Consort secretly plotted to put him on the throne; when the plot was exposed Yudu defected to Jin, Literary Consort was executed, and Aolugan, who had not joined the plot, was spared.

上知敖盧斡得人心，不忍加誅，令縊殺之。 Knowing Aolugan had won the people's hearts and unable to bear executing him openly, the emperor ordered him strangled.

或勸之亡，敖盧斡曰：「安忍為蕞爾之軀，而失臣子之大節！」 Some urged him to flee; Aolugan said, "How could I save this petty life and betray the great duty of subject and son!"

敖盧斡重君父之命，不亡而死，申生其恭矣乎！ Aolugan honored his sovereign and father, refusing flight though it meant death—was he not as dutiful as Prince Sheng of Jin!
