祖阿思蘭，嘗從大將阿術伐宋，仕至冀寧路達魯花赤，子孫因其名蘭，遂以蘭為氏。 His grandfather Asilan had followed the great general Aju in the conquest of Song and rose to darughachi of Jining Circuit; his descendants took the syllable Lan from his name and adopted Lan as their surname.
